Energy and Farm Diversification Show -Showcasing Opportunities for Renewable Energy in Agriculture

James Staines Principal at Staines Law – Agri Law Specialists July 12, 2024

Gurteen College, Tipperary – The much-anticipated Energy and Farm Diversification Show, scheduled for 18th July 2024 at Gurteen College (E53TP93), promises to be a landmark event highlighting innovative opportunities within the agriculture sector to contribute towards Ireland’s renewable energy goals.

This event, focusing on practical demonstrations and expert discussions, is set against the backdrop of the recently published National Biomethane Strategy.

James Staines of Staines Law is presenting at the demonstration on anaerobic digestion, scheduled from 2:15 to 3:00 PM. The demonstration, facilitated by Barry Caslin of Teagasc, is a must-attend for stakeholders interested in sustainable agricultural practices and renewable energy solutions.

The demonstration will cover essential topics such as the structures for providing feedstock to AD (Anaerobic Digestion) plants and opportunities for local farmers to engage and benefit from the development of AD facilities nationwide. “This event comes at a crucial time when the need for renewable energy solutions and sustainable agricultural practices have never been more pronounced,” said James Staines, who will also address practical legal considerations related to option and lease agreements for solar, wind, and battery storage projects.

The AD Demonstration will feature a roster of esteemed speakers and industry experts, including:

Stephen Robb, IFJ Renewables Editor

Sean Finan, CEO of IRBEA

Maurice Deasy and Barry Caslin of Teagasc

Karen Doyle, Head of Business Development at Gas Networks Ireland

Representatives from the Planning Section of Tipperary County Council

Stephen Nolan, Director of AD Bio refine

David Whelehan, Agri Tech Consultant for Vogelsang

Attendees will gain invaluable insights into leveraging the National Biomethane Strategy to reduce fertilizer usage through digestate and explore renewable energy targets.

In addition to the demonstration, Staines Law will host a stand throughout the event to offer personalized advice on the various legal aspects related to renewable energy projects to include Option and Lease Agreements for Solar, Wind and Battery Storage.

The Energy and Farm Diversification Show is not only a forum for learning and exchange but also an opportunity for networking with key players in the renewable energy and agricultural sectors.
